Steps to register for Bear Necessities NSO
1. Pay your $300 (non-refundable) Bear NSO Orientation fee and select the NSO session you will be attending. Visit your MSU "self-service" page to access the NSO payment link.
Here are detailed step-by-step instructions on how to pay your $300 NSO fee.
2. Allow 24 - 48 business hours for your NSO registration fee to be confirmed. Complete the required pre-orientation tasks sent to your MSU email (i.e. NSO Welcome Form, ALEKS Placement Exam).
If you are unhoused, a ward of the state, or legally emancipated please email bearnso@morgan.edu for alternative instructions.
Extended Registration Deadline: June 16, 2025
Original deadline was May 16th, 2025. Please be aware NSO sessions are set to reach capacity. We suggest registering as soon as possible.
All freshman students have a "First Year Advising Hold" on their account, which prevents class registration. This hold ensures you meet with an advisor before registering for classes.
Please Note: You will not meet with an advisor until your scheduled NSO session. All newly admitted students must complete the required pre-orientation tasks prior to meeting with an advisor during NSO.
